Sara Mehldau I think you can definitely develop a way to collapse the breadcrumbs. But I believe the work to implement a slick way to do this outweighs the small benefit you get to show less levels. Going to any other page (or refreshing the page) to see the collapsible breadcrumbs I think suffices, but that is just my opinion!
